Not-So-Friendly Fox(es)

I posted a few days ago about an encounter I had with what I described as a cute little fox. Well, the fox has a family, and apparently they think our house is theirs (technically, I know....). They also think the sweet bunny in our yard is their food (technically, I know...). It's quite traumatic to see the fox, waltzing across the backyard with the bunny in its mouth, followed by its sibling. They are leaving us "presents" on the front and back door mats...the kind of presents that need to be handled with gloved hands and then ammonia. They quickly went from cute to pesky. Something has to be done! Mommy made lots of calls today to find someone to help. Basically, the pest control guy will come out and set up a trap. He said for every fox we get, we'll probably get four other animals such as possums or skunks (great!!!!). He will either teach us how to handle the traps and the "relocation" or he will come (for $125 each visit) to do it himself. Can you imagine Mommy or, especially, Daddy trapping animals??? It will no doubt make for very funny YouTube videos!

Gymnastics Class

This summer I am taking a break from my usual occupational therapy and trying some different activities that will also help with my motor skills. Today I did a gymnastics class that was super fun!

My Name is Victoria, and I am a Hugger

When I am in trouble for something, I immediately try to ply Mommy or Daddy with kisses and hugs. How can you put me in time out or fuss at me when I have my arms lovingly wrapped around you and I am kissing you???? Apparently, I do something similar with my speech therapist. In my yearly report, she states:

"Victoria will request hugs to change the focus of a difficult task."

Swimming Play Date

Abbie, Whitney and Zoe

Evelyn

My Favorite Float

You can't see it, but Aiden is wearing a SPEEDO!

Zoe brought her baby brother Asher. I LOVE Asher!

Just Chillin'

These were easier to carry before they were blown up!

My school friends came over today for some swimming, lunch and playing. I have been working on the concept of sharing, not always successfully, but today I did a great job as a gracious hostess. We had a blast!

Rockin' River

Today we met my friends Aiden and Abbie at the Rockin' River waterpark in Round Rock. It is a great place for kids our age. For the adventurous type (not me) there are a couple of large water slides. For the rest of us, there's a lazy river (I prefer to be carried, thank you), a "ship wreck" to explore and a couple of smaller slides. I did venture down one of those, but I am still upset about all the water I got up my nose!

Friendly Fox

Yesterday afternoon, we had a baby fox on our front patio! The two of us had a fun ten minutes of playing peek-a-boo. We would stare at one another through the window or front door and then it would dart around the corner, only to peek around again. I know Swiper the fox on Dora is ornery, but this guy seemed plenty friendly and cute!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Today was my Daddy's birthday, and the celebration was especially sweet. This week Daddy will start seven weeks of daily radiation. Today he was surrounded by people who love him bunches - none more than me, though!

Daddy's Birthday Present

It's my Daddy's birthday tomorrow, and I couldn't be more excited. Today, I wanted a leaf off a tree and when Mommy picked one for me, I indicated to her that I wanted to give it to Daddy for his birthday AND that I wanted two more so he could have three leaves. I held them onto them until we got home. I then wanted to wrap them and put a big bow on them. I couldn't wait for Daddy to get home from work - every time I heard a noise I asked if it was Daddy. I placed it on his chair while we waited. When he finally arrived, I rushed to get it and ever-so-proudly gave him his present. Daddy was beyond touched and even wants to frame those precious leaves.

Bye, Bye, Sharks

I call my daddy!

Today was the last day at summer camp at The Capitol School. The theme was Surf's Up, and my class was the sharks. Since starting at the school in April, my speech has really improved. This week I even said a couple of four words sentences - "I see my Mommy" and "I call my Daddy". More and more words are coming, old words are becoming clearer, etc...One step at a time, I am going to get there!!!

Baby OUT!

Our dear friend April is about to have a baby (her third boy!). I understand that the baby is in her tummy (and sometimes insist that Mommy or Daddy must also have a baby in their tummies, to which they explain that it is just all tummy and then they eat a salad for dinner). When I saw April, I insisted she take the "baby out!" I can't wait to hold him!
