Halloween 2010

We now live in a neighborhood where I can trick-or-treat! We started the evening with a party in the cul-de-sac where there was cookie decorating, balloon animals, a costume parade, pumpkin decorating, a pumpkin hunt, a fish pond...Mommy and I then moved on to a hay ride for trick-or-treating while Daddy manned the house and handed out candy. Was there any doubt what my costume would be???

Toy Catalogs

Our mailbox has been full of toy catalogs, just in time for the holidays. I think it's just as fun (well almost!) to look through them as it is to get the toys shown and described so temptingly on the pages.

School Halloween Party

We celebrated a little early at our school by wearing costumes and trick-or-treating at each other's classrooms. Mommy, the pirate, joined us for the morning of fun.

Hamster Sitting

What's this???

Let me get a closer look...

This might be too close...

It's our weekend to have the class pets - two hamsters named Woody and Buzz. After we loaded them in the car on Friday, Mommy asked me what I thought Barbie would do when he saw them. I immediately responded, "Eat them!" He has been VERY interested in them. He is the one who should worry, though. We aren't sure he'll make it through the weekend without a nibble on his nose.

Guess

Can you guess what I want to be for Halloween this year??????

Pep Rally

We had a Fun Friday Fall celebration at our school and had a pep rally! Our school is small and our classes rarely come together as a campus, so we decided to have a pep rally to build unity and show our school pride. Each class performed a song, chant, cheer...my class performed some yoga moves (my teacher is also a yoga teacher) to a song. As the other classes performed, lots of us danced along. There was definitely some spirit and energy in the room!

Petting Zoo

Another part of our Fun Friday was a petting zoo. There weren't the usual baby farm animals/deer, but instead there were lion-maned bunnies, a hedgehog and even a chinchilla. When there's something like this, Mommy nevers knows how I will react - with terror being a real possibility. As you can see, I loved it!

School Pumpkin Patch

Of course, I picked a "baby" pumpkin.
So Proud
I picked a scary ghost.

The Fishing Pond

I am so strong!

Well, not that strong...I only want one of those boys in the wagon!

Our Pumpkin Patch

Photo Op

Fun Friday at school was topped off with a visit to the "pumpkin patch" in one of our vegetable garden beds. We got to pick a pumpkin, go fishing at the fishing pond, take a picture with a scarecrow, etc...

Anniversary

How fitting that we visited Aunt Pearl this morning. She is a 99 year-old breast cancer survivor, and today is the three year anniversary of Mommy's diagnosis. Ironically, Aunt Pearl's surgery happened on the very day Mommy was born. It's hard for Mommy to believe it's been three years - it both feels like yesterday and a lifetime ago.

Elgin Pumpkin Patch

This morning we went on our first school field trip to the Elgin Christmas Tree Farm Pumpkin Patch. We went on a hay ride (my favorite), did an art project, saw some animals, picked a pumpkin and had a picnic. What a fun morning!
