Home to Stay

At BaBa's I get ice cream in a bowl and a cone!

Helping tend the flowers I planted a few months ago

BaBa bought me a new doll...because I only have about fifteen others!

Walking on the painter's scaffolding...Scary!

Swimming with Aunt Teri

Just as we returned from Park City, we left to go visit BaBa. Daddy had work to do, so we tagged along. As you may remember, BaBa recently moved to a smaller house just a few blocks from my Uncle Jeff. The old house has finally been cleared of 50 years of STUFF and is currently being painted as a final step before putting it on the market. Mommy and I visited her childhood home, probably for the last time, which was a bit strange.

Two and a Half!

Today I turned two and a half! We started a new tradition that on my half birthday, instead of receiving gifts, I sort throught my toys and give some away. I also get half a cake (which I got to help make today)!

Canyons Camp

Look! They have dolls here!

Loading up!

Up, up, up we go!

Mommy can be overprotective (a stalker). She watches me at school, although they allow/even encourage it with the observation rooms they provide. While in Park City, I went to a half-day camp at the Canyons resort a few mornings. Unfortunately for Mommy there was no observation room, and although she did leave the premises, she spent plenty of time hiding in the bushes, around corners and behind newspapers to check out what I was doing. The schedule consisted of meet and greet, circle time, snack time, outdoor time (we rode the gondola to the top of the mountain where we played or went on a nature walk) and then lunch. I had a great time and was always ready to go back...and always ready for Mommy to come get me...I guess it's mutual!

Pretty flowers can be grown where the temperature is not 100 degrees...

Canyons Concert

Our Ride up the Mountain

The Family

The Band

Hanging out with Daddy

I can sniff out a sandbox anywhere!

The Canyons hosts a summer concert series every Saturday night here in Park City. Tonight's band was Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. We rode the gondola up the mountain, found a great spot, spread out our blanket and settled in for an evening of entertainment. I stayed on the blanket for about four songs and then just had to get up and go. There were so many kids to play with and people to say hello to that I just couldn't resist. I even found a kids' play area.

Bark in the Park

This morning we went to the 2nd Annual Bark in the Park. We actually stumbled upon the 1st annual event last year during a routine trip to the park. We enjoyed it so much, we were thrilled to be in town so we could go again. There were competitions of all sorts - races, agility courses, frisbee throwing, swimming, fetching, etc...It was really funny when the English Bulldog had to rest three times during his race. He finally made it! I love dogs...I wish Daddy would let me have one.

Win-Win

Not surprisingly, the hub of downtown Park City is its Main Street, which is just a few blocks of restaurants and shops. There is also a drop-in child care. Now, anyone who knows Mommy knows that she is over-the-top uneasy about leaving me with anyone...and she misses me! She is working on this because it is good for both of us to spend time apart (or so other people say) and it is good for her to have time alone with Daddy (which she agrees with). Taking a deep breath, she dropped me off at the child care. She then walked a whole twenty feet across the courtyard and had a splendid meal with Daddy, often looking out the window to see me happily playing. They picked me up and we went for ice cream. It worked out so well!

Morning Walk

The Park City area has hundreds of miles of walking/hiking/biking trails. Mommy and I set out this morning to utilize this great resource. Unfortunately (for Mommy - I was just fine since I was in the stroller!), we were so busy enjoying the cool weather and the scenery, that we didn't quite notice the ever-so-subtle descent on the way, which somehow resulted in quite an ascent on the way back. These photos are some of the scenes from our walk. It was worth the huffing and puffing!

Hogle Zoo

Today we visited the Hogle Zoo, just outside of Salt Lake City. It was a great zoo - just the right size! I enjoyed all the animals, but my favorite spot was the Small Animal House. I could get up close and personal to the cats, foxes, etc...and I really liked that. I also enjoyed the train ride, but refused to ride the carousel. Mommy rode it in my place! I got a stuffed owl and a cool cup with a swirly straw for souvenirs.

Park Silly Sunday Market

Every Sunday during the summer, Main Street in Park City becomes the PARK SILLY SUNDAY MARKET. It's a mixture of musicians, performance artists of other sorts, artisans, a farmer's market, and even face painters. The kitty you see is actually ME!

Super Sandbox

I found a sandbox even bigger than Tripp's (Tripp has a REALLY big one!). It's really a sand volleyball court, but a corner of it has been my favorite place to play. I could play in the sand forever. After two hours today, I cried when I had to leave.

PARK City

Serious Static from the Slide

I am determined to make it up the slide one day!

My favorite thing about Park City is all the super-duper, great parks. Not only are they super-duper and great, but the weather is so pleasant that you can really enjoy them. I spend lots of time at the parks when I am here. Here are some shots that show how happy it makes me to be in the cool air, with my nose up, taking it all in...
