Duck Pond Fun
It has been one of those glorious weeks here in Austin. We have a very small window between the chilly weather and the scorching weather, so when it is here, we HAVE TO be outside! We headed to the duck pond with our friends Max and Lori for some lunch for us and the ducks (we had all the bread scraps from Mommy's sandwiches). It really doesn't get any better than this!

Kidnapper
Reminding Mommy to be quiet around the baby
As I mentioned in the previous post, my friend Richard has really great toys. In fact, I ended up "borrowing" a doll from his house. I am taking especially good care of him, putting him in my doll backpack, sleeping with him and giving him a special seat at my tea parties. Mommy keeps reminding me that it's Richard's doll and he'll have to be returned soon, while Daddy is wondering how much Richard would take for the doll. I'll return him, but I can't guarantee he won't be spoiled.

My Friends Vaughan and Nash
They have the BEST toys at Richard's house!

Checking out the Baskets
The Whites hosted their 2nd annual Easter Egg Hunt/Brunch this morning. We found the eggs in record time, had some lunch and then played, played, played. It was one of those glorious times, when the parents were able to chat while the children happily frolicked about. The Whites really know how to make both the adults and kids feels welcome and special. Thanks for a fun time!
Yummy Bacon
I would say Mommy loves bacon, but that's really an understatement. It would be her last meal and at least a part of all the meals in between, if it weren't for that darn cholesterol issue. Usually a kid's breakfast meal comes with a piece of bacon, which, of course, Mommy has always eaten. Today I discovered just how yummy it is, so I'll not be giving away my bacon anymore. Sorry, Mommy!

Easter Eggs
This morning we headed to Max's house for an easter-egg-dying-play-date. As usual, Max's mom made it special for us. I had princess cups and stickers, while Max's had Toy Story. I need to work on my dunking technique because I caused quite a splash when I lowered my eggs into the dye. We also had some playtime, dancing and lunch. What a fun morning!
Nap No More
Since it's been at least a month, it's official...I no longer take an afternoon nap. While this will actually work out well for Mommy when I start my new school in a couple of weeks (she will have missed me all morning and will be ready to play and spend time with me!), it makes for loooong days during these weeks that I am off. It reminds Mommy of the saying...
The days are long, but the years are short...
so you won't hear her complaining (too much) about not having that afternoon break. She knows that all too soon, I won't be asking her to dance, play dolls, have a tea party, play dress-up, play hide-and-seek, read...so instead, she'll look at it as two more hours during the day that we can do those things.

Austin Rodeo - Trip #1
Today Mommy and I made an impromptu trip to the Austin Rodeo. Since we'll be going again on Sunday to see the actual rodeo and animals, we just made it to the carnival today. The only ride I wanted to get on was the train...and the only ride that was out-of-order was the train. We were having fun walking around, watching others ride, when I spotted the most beautiful blue and white unicorn. Let's just say that Mommy can pop some balloons with a dart (8 out of 9!). She won me the unicorn, who, for today, is my best friend...and Mommy is my hero.

VERY Exciting News
Drumroll, please.......I am potty-trained!!!! Mommy never really pushed the issue and held the belief that when I was ready, I would be ready, although she was beginning to doubt that theory. Guess what? I am READY! She has talked about it for a long while, stocked my drawer with panties, even made a couple of attempts. On Sunday, we tried again. I stayed dry all day, but then when I needed to go, I sat on the potty and just couldn't...we did this for about three hours. I got up and down about 100 times until I finally went. Based on Mommy and Daddy's reaction, you would have thought I had just walked on the moon. There hasn't been any looking back. It was like MAGIC! Mommy realizes that there are lots of changes ahead with the move (no, we haven't moved into the new house yet - we will...eventually!) and my new school, so there may be some regression. We are just thrilled, ecstatic, celebrating this current state of events.
And, yes, there are photos (Daddy disapproved greatly), but I'll spare you.

Austin Zoo
April has a baby in her tummy, and I said, "Me, too" and put my doll under my shirt.
We have a nice little zoo just outside of town. Today was a beautiful day, so we met our friends April, Nash and Vaughan there. We rode the train and saw lions and tigers and bears - oh my!(and turtles, monkeys, lemurs, foxes...).
