Fun Day at School
There were many cakes entered in the contest at my school - all very unique and creative...and all winning entries! Daddy and I won "Most Royal". How fitting! In addition to the cake contest, there were lots of games and activities. Mommy spent the morning with me and Daddy joined us for a picnic lunch. Then it was time to say goodbye to my friends, but only for a week because summer camp is around the corner!

First Dance Class
Mommy thought it would interest me to join a dance class, but my school schedule just wasn't compatible with any dance classes she found (sorry, Carissa, your dance studio would have been our first choice!). My friend Abbie takes dance class at the Little Gym and invited me to come along today to try it out. It's a really laid back class that gives a sampling of a couple types of dance, which is perfect for me. I have been working hard to develop age appropriate physical skills as a part of my therapy program, but I am taking the summer off from that and doing some activities that are just fun...like dance. In today's class I participated and listened well to the instructions...and looked SUPER CUTE doing the moves. Mommy signed me up and we immediately went and bought some tap and dance shoes. Thanks, Abbie, for taking good care of me and helping me!
First Swim
Today we took our first swim in the new pool. It took our old pool FOREVER to warm up in the summer because of the design and the shade around it...not to mention Mommy is a wimp and likes the water to be about 90 degrees. The new pool was ALMOST warm enough for Mommy's comfort level, so she got in because she knows how much I love it.

Water Day
The end of the school year is always a fun time. Today we had Water Day, with an inflatable slide/pool. Mommy came up to watch the wet, wild time, and was so proud of me when I went down the slide (not normally something I would do). We have more activities scheduled next week...including a Daddy/Daughter cake decorating contest...I bet you can't wait to read about that!

Swimming Lessons
This spring was the first time I hadn't taken weekly swim lessons since I was six months old. Instead, I just started a short series with the neigborhood swim teacher. Ms. Debby runs a tight ship...not many warm fuzzies, parents are strongly encouraged to not be there to cause distractions. If the swimming ablitlity of the kids she has worked with over the past thirty years is evidence, then her tactics work! I am happy to report that I picked up right where I left off. There are so many things that I hesitant to do/unsure of, but swimming is not one of them. I love being in the water and can't wait for our pool to heat up so I can be in there every day.
Need Any Boxes?
Just a quick update...the last box was unpacked yesterday! We are officially settled in the new house. May it hold many happy memories and good times with friends and family.

getting settled
We have been in the new house now for five days, and I am happy to report that I have adjusted incredibly well. Mommy was prepared for sleep/potty/behavior issues, but there have been none. Mommy thought she would not be able to sleep because my room is now on the other side of the house instead of just a few feet away, but that has also not happened...moving makes one really, really tired and sleep comes easily.
The Big Move...Finally
The movers showed up bright and early Wednesday morning. Mommy called them Superheroes because they were able to back their trucks up our tricky driveway and position their ramps very close to the front door, decreasing their estimated time by almost three hours (and saving lots of money - does that EVER happen in a move???). The crew of four worked hard and were friendly and easy to work with, making the day stress-free for Mommy (does that EVER happen in a move???). Now, on to getting settled at the new place...

Pecan Street Festival
Today we decided to head downtown to the 32nd annual Pecan Street Festival. Several blocks of 6th Street are lined with booths of vendors selling their wares (I got a butterfly ring), and some music and other entertainers mixed in. What made it especially fun was we took the city bus to get there (we parked and rode just a few blocks each way)!
