When we are in Park City, we do many of the same things we do at home...like going to the library. So far, we have checked out all the Max & Ruby books they had on the shelf. At the library yesterday, there was a magic show with Mort the Magician. I had fun watching him make things disappear/reappear.

The trip to Park City couldn't have gone better (well, if I had taken a nap on the plane...that would have been better). I have flown several times, but not in a while, so this was the first time I had my own seat. Daddy picked us up at the airport right on time. His drive was timed perfectly. After we got settled, we headed for our usual first spot - Whole Foods to stock up on groceries. They had little shopping carts, so I was able to help. I helped a little too much, though, and wanted to put just about everything in my cart. Mommy says if we run out of things to do, we'll head back to Whole Foods so I can go grocery shopping.

Park City, Here We Come!

Last summer we went to Park City, Utah as a change of pace from our usual Cabo trip. We loved it there...especially the weather! We loved it so much, we leave tomorrow for what may become our "Annual Park City Trip". Given the record-breaking heat here right now, it couldn't come at a better time. We'll be back at the end of July, but will try to figure out how to download photos and blog from there...we'll just try not to rub it in that it will be 75 degrees!

If there is a way to "get your money's worth" from putting in a pool, we are doing it. We are in the pool every day, until I am worn out! Here's a video of me jumping off the side and swimming. As soon as I come up, I ask to do it again.

Happy Birthday, America!

This morning we went to the annual neighborhood Fourth of July parade. The parade is just a mix of dogs, kids on bike/trikes, babies in strollers...all wearing their best red-white-and-blue, led by a fire engine and the Boy Scout troop around the block. There aren't any spectators because everyone is a participator. One little boy was quite upset that there weren't people along the parade route to see him (he was dressed as Lady Liberty, which won him first prize in the costume contest - no wonder he wanted people to see him!). This evening, we grilled hot dogs and watched the fireworks. It was a great day!

My Friend Max

My friend Max is in my swimming class. While he and I take our lesson, our mommies drink coffee and chat. It's a time we all enjoy! In addition to the requisite donut shop trip after class, we try to have a playdate as well. Our birthdays are only about a week apart, so we are practically TWINS!

Our close family friends are dealing with something simply awful...their lovely 15 year old daughter/granddaughter/niece has just been diagnosed with an incredibly rare cancer. The doctors on her team say they see only about 20 cases a year of this type of cancer. They all have a tough road ahead of them, so please add Autrey to your prayers...and hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight.

Most of you who read my blog are in the same boat I am, but the folks in Pennsylvania and Oregon and beyond aren't, so I feel the need to tell you...IT'S REALLY, REALLY HOT here. When I ask to go swimming during the day, Mommy tells me it's too hot. If it is too hot to go swimming, it's REALLY, REALLY HOT! Instead we find things to do inside. Yesterday we made brownies, which I almost did all by myself. I poured everything in the bowl, added the egg and stirred. I, of course, got to lick the spoon and when there was nothing else on it, I proceeded to lick my dress where some batter dripped. I am not one to waste good chocolate.

This week we went to Bryan to visit my new cousin Dzo. As I have mentioned before, he is from Latvia, and my Uncle Randy and his family have adopted him! He just turned eleven. He is learning English quickly and is so happy to be a part of his new family...and we are happy too! Notice that he is already wearing an Aggie shirt...WHOOP!
