My pretend play has expanding to include assigning different personas to those around me...Mommy is BaBa, Daddy is Mommy, Daddy is Barbie, Mommy is Daddy...the possibilities are endless. I always assign myself the role of baby (sometimes with the slight variation of Barbie's baby). We are all impressed with how well the doll gear holds up to my 35 pounds.

A Pirate Says "ARGH!"
My friends Vaughan and Nash both have birthdays in December, but because of a cross-country move (the second one that year), some illness, and then Christmas...their party didn't quite happen. Since they didn't get a party then, their mom threw them the best pirate party ever this evening! There was a search for pirate treasure and even a pirate ship to play in. I was especially brave and even...drumroll please...got on a see saw! I even got to sneak in some Baby Beck time.

Mommy's Birthday
I wanted to bake a cake with Daddy for Mommy's birthday, but instead we got one from the bakery (red velvet with cream cheese icing - yum!). Daddy said he's only good to bake one cake a century, and he already did that for my school project. I got to pick out her card - is anyone surprised I picked the one with girls wearing tutu's??? Mommy said her best present was the sweet sound of my voice singing Happy Birthday.

Circus!
I liked the circus so much last year that we went again this year - with some hesitation. For about the past six months, noises have really bothered me. Mommy and Daddy were prepared to leave if I wasn't comfortable, and we were about one, "I want to go home now!" away from leaving...when the horses came out to put on their show. I unburied my head from Mommy's shoulder and proceeded to watch and enjoy the next two hours of the show. I even got a horse to bring home for my Barbies to ride!

Storytime Live
I don't get to see my friend Max often enough now that we don't have swim class together, but we did manage to go see a show yesterday at the Long Center. There were four segments of shows from Nick Jr. network - Ni Hoa Kai Lan, The Backyardigans, The Wonder Pets and Dora. We were entertained the whole time and even danced, clapped and acted along.
Classroom Visit
We're going to have to do something about those dollhouses being all the way up there!
Our Schedule
Our Schedule
This morning I got to visit my new classroom before the official start on Monday. This year, my four classmates and I will be the "Caterpillars". I, of course, immediately went to the pretend play center. My teacher is going to have a hard time prying me away from that area!

Morgan's Wonderland
It's HOT!!!
We wanted to fit in one more fun outing, so my friends from school loaded up the mini-vans and headed south. A new entertainment park opened in San Antonio this past spring. It's not just any park - it's a "special place for special kids". All of the playscapes, areas, activities are designed to accomodate special needs kids. There are several incredible playscapes, a carousel, a gym, a sensory village (which had the BEST pretend grocery store I have ever seen AND I got to be "on t.v." doing the weather), a fishing pond, a track for cars, hands-on water works area, a train...ANY kid would love to play there! Even in the 100 degree weather, we had a great time...and guess how much it cost us to go? FIVE DOLLARS for both Mommy and me! It's the only park of its kind in the nation, and we are so lucky to have it so close. We'll definitely be going back soon and often.
